Spring Tour 2008

The Tokyo Disney® Resort is conducting its 2008 Spring Audition Tour- actively seeking singers, dancers, percussionists and Disney Animated Character look-a-likes for a diverse array of live entertainment offerings performed at both Tokyo Disneyland® and Tokyo DisneySea®

Performers bring exciting and up-close entertainment to resort guests through shows that range from a 1940's Big Band revue with live orchestra to a mystical celebration of jungle rhythms to a fast-paced Broadway-style musical featuring Cinderella, Snow White, Prince Charming and many other beloved Disney characters.

Six to eight month contracts begin July 2008. Performers receive $590 - $930 per week depending on role and show, a per diem, round-trip travel accommodations, private apartments, five-day work weeks and an excellent international performance opportunity.

Seeking 3 strong female vocalists to portray Slue Foot Sue. 5'4" – 5'9". Strong Soprano/Belt vocalist. The charismatic and playful owner of the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon- she lights up the stage with her engaging personality. Great with audience interaction.

BIG BAND BEAT
Seeking 2 African-American female vocalists and 2 Caucasian female vocalists with strong jazz stylings; SINGS WITH LIVE ORCHESTRA. Prefer seasoned vocalists. All must be charismatic with strong stage presence, able to take centerstage and handle basic movement. Ability to do a basic time-step is a plus. Show concept: the Cotton Club meets rhythm & blues meets big band swing.

Seeking 9 men and 9 women to portray classic Disney Princes & Princesses in this rousing musical revue featuring a magical appearance by Peter Pan. All dancers must be trained in both ballet and jazz with exceptional stage presence and dynamic performance ability. Especially seeking males 5'5" – 5'9" with slender build and strong ballet technique to portray Peter Pan.

MYSTIC RHYTHMS
Seeking 6 men to perform in a lavish multi-sensory production exploring the mystic rhythms of a tropical rainforest. All male dancers must be athletic with strong physique; ballet technique is not required. Specifically seeking Latin or African-American men.

UNDER THE SEA
Seeking 9 female dancers for an interactive retelling of the classic animated feature. Guests journey into the deep where Ariel and friends swim above. All dancers must have strong abdominal and back muscles, beautiful port de bras and not be afraid of heights.

BIG BAND BEAT
Seeking 7 men for this large-scale musical where the Cotton Club meets Big Band swing; performed with a live orchestra. All dancers must be trained in jazz and tap with exceptional charisma and stage presence. Especially seeking solo and African-American tap dancers.

All shows require strong dance technique and dynamic performance ability; females 5'1" – 5'7" and males 5'5" – 6'.

VARIOUS SHOWS AND PARADES
Disney Animated Character look-a-likes bring classic royalty and other storybook favorites to life for close-up interaction with our guests. Requires strong movement and characterization ability. Strong candidates resemble the characters in look, height, and personality.

CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW
Savvy pirate captain with reckless abandonment and great physical expression. Witty and comedic character with preferred swashbuckling skills, 5'9" – 6' typecast by look and build.

Seeking 2 strong Latin percussionists with great charisma and stage presence- able to take center stage- for this colorful and energized Latin song and dance revue. Must be able to play Timbales, bongos, and other Latin instruments while executing simple footwork.

KITCHEN BEAT
Seeking 3 strong percussionists with great charisma and stage presence to play as part of a humorous trio; able to handle comedic dialogue and be physically expressive while utilizing kitchen utensils- frying pans, spatulas, etc- as percussion instruments.

Requirements:

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and willing to relocate to Tokyo for the terms of their individual contracts. Please bring a non-returnable photo and resume. All auditions begin at the time listed – please arrive early to register.
Singers: Should prepare two vocal selections of contrasting styles (best 16 bars each). Please bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided
Dancers: Should be strong in ballet and jazz; some roles require tap or tumbling. Please wear appropriate dance attire/shoes and be warmed up and ready to begin at the time listed.
Disney Character Look-alikes: We are seeking engaging performers to portray our classic Disney Princes and Princesses; strong candidates should resemble the Characters in look, height and personality. Some dance ability is required.
