Actors, Improvisational Actors, Singers, Actors Who Sing, Musical Theater Performers

Position Overview
Hundreds of performers are cast in this talent category that includes traditionally trained actors, comedic improvisational actors, Renaissance-style actors, musical theater performers, and emcees. Vocalists perform styles ranging from contemporary musical theater to rock gospel, a capella, country, and classical.

Auditions
Auditions for this talent category are held frequently throughout the year. Auditions take place in Central Florida and in other selected cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Requirements:
At least 18 years old, provide a current, non-returnable photo and resume.

Actors and Improv Actors should prepare a one-minute comedic monologue. There may be an initial type-out audition. You may be asked to read, learn additional material, or participate in improvisational exercises.

Actors who sing -- please prepare a one-minute comedic monologue plus one vocal selection (16 bars). Please provide sheet music in the correct key.

Singers -- please prepare two vocal selections of contrasting styles (best 16 bars of each). An accompanist will be provided at all vocal auditions. Singers may be asked to learn additional music or a movement combination.

Contracts begin at various times throughout the year, start at $500.00 a week, and are negotiable. All entertainers employed by Walt Disney World Co. are covered under terms and conditions of a collective bargaining agreement with Actors' Equity Association. Full-time employees receive a flexible insurance package that fits individual needs and lifestyles.   Epcot®

A troupe of performers with experience in Renaissance-style theater are a comedic highlight in World Showcase. Guest participation is an essential part of these street theater shows. Actors must have strong improvisational skills and be prepared for the unexpected.

  MAGIC KINGDOM® Park

Sarah Jo - Female actor who sings and moves well. Hosts an interactive dance party with Disney Characters. Must be able to facilitate dance instruction to large audiences.

[Role]Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
  Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort/Pioneer Hall

This dinner show recreates western vaudeville with six musical theater performers who sing, dance, and joke up a storm.

[Role]Pocahontas and Her Forest Friends Show
  DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM® Theme Park

An intimate theatrical show, starring Pocahontas and Grandmother Willow, featuring live animals found in the forest.

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS:
Pocahontas -- Female actor who sings, second soprano. Good speaking voice, athletic build, 5'6" or taller. Must be willing to work with animals.

A comedic actor guides us on a humorous journey into the world of live exotic birds, as we learn the treasures of the true animal kingdom.

[Role]Festival of the Lion King Show
  DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM Theme Park

Combining the pageantry of a parade with all the excitement of a tribal celebration, "Festival of the Lion King" is a joyous, high-energy spectacle combining pop, rock, and gospel.

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS:
Kiume -- African tribal chief. Male vocalist with strong acting skills, powerful baritone/bass. Performs "Be Prepared."
Nakawa -- African prince. Male vocalist with strong acting skills. Pop tenor, youthful energy, spirited, eager. Performs "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" duet.
Zawadi -- Tribal queen. Female vocalist with strong acting skills. Alto, earthy, vivacious. Performs "The Circle of Life."
Kibibi -- Tribal princess. Female vocalist with strong acting skills. Soprano. Radiant, flirtatious, playful. Performs "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" duet.

Journey "under the sea" with Ariel in this energetic musical adventure.
Ariel -- Youthful-appearing, petite. 5'1" to 5'4". Lyrical soprano pop voice to C.

A 1930 adventurers' hangout where Guests have an opportunity to mix and mingle with the club's comedic eccentrics. Strong improvisational actors.

[Role]Beauty and the Beast -- Live on Stage

A cast of dancers and singers who dance create a dazzling stage show that invites you to "Be Our Guest." Experienced singers are cast in the following principal roles:

Belle -- 5'5"-5'8". Lyrical pop theater voice to E.
Gaston -- 6'1" or taller. Baritone with a top G.

Our premier vocal ensemble performs a capella at the American Adventure. Straight tone and vocal training is essential, as voices must blend in eight-part harmony.

Auntie Wini: A lovable Hawaiian who is a little Bloody Mary, a little Hilo Hattie, and a lot of friendship, laughter, hospitality, and fun. She has been a respected Hula teacher for decades and greatly respects and loves the heritage of the Islands. A beautiful smile, a warm hug, and a happy laugh for everyone make her the embodiment of the true "Spirit of Aloha."

Howie: A warm, friendly, comedic, contemporary Hawaiian character. A comic show-off, he is trying to stay young and hip. Loves to sing, laugh (and make others laugh), and eat.

Kimo: A sincere, strong, uncomplicated guy who sings and dances. A lifelong resident of the Island, he has a very heavy crush on Leilani, his childhood sweetheart.

Scout: An athletic, boisterous girl who works (for free) as the "Roadie" for Howie's band. She is really a very beautiful young woman who has always secretly liked Howie - although he treats her like "one of the boys."

Leilani: Just back from college on the Mainland, this lovely young woman now fancies herself a city girl, but will find out that her soul belongs to the Islands.
