Christine Nicole Simmons is a Supplier Diversity & Sustainability Manager for The Walt
Disney Company corporate headquarters. In this role she is responsible for supporting the Media Networks, Supply Chain - Operations Strategy,
Studio Production, New Media Technology and Marketing teams in identifying qualified, competitive diverse suppliers for sourcing opportunities. She also is responsible for the
recruitment and outreach of African American owned businesses and green production sourcing initiatives.
In the time she has been with the company, Christine has delivered on key projects, moving Supplier
Diversity and Sustainability toward a world class process. She implemented a process to create an interface
to automatically track and update diverse supplier codes, thus increasing the validity of the data. In
addition, Christine was instrumental in supporting the launch of our Second Tier Automated Reporting Tool
which will eliminate the need to manually collect and consolidate 2nd tier data from multiple
systems. Recently, Christine finished creating and disseminating critical spend comparison reports as well
as implemented the design and launch of the new Supplier Diversity website.
Prior to joining the Disney team, Ms. Simmons was the Director of Marketing & Programs for the Southern
California Minority Business Development Council. There she forged the engagement of the entertainment
industry by effectively coordinating, developing and implementing an initial "blue print" for strategic
business matchmaking events. Ms. Simmons also managed projects for United Technologies Corporation for
the Global and Latin America Supplier Diversity Managers. She organized bidding conferences domestically
and internationally, which resulted in significant increased spend with MWBEs.
Ms. Simmons received her bachelor of science degree from UCLA. She holds a seat on the board of the
UCLA Black Alumni Association, is a member of the National Association of Female Executives, on the Corporate Advisory Board of the Greater L.A. African American Chamber of Commerce, a Founding Board member of Endeavor College Prep Charter School and is a
Lifetime member of the UCLA Alumni Association.
