The Walt Disney Company and certain related Affiliates ("Disney") annually certify to the United States Department of Commerce that they adhere to the Safe Harbor framework developed by the United States Department of Commerce in coordination with the European Union. The European Union's Directive on Data Protection prohibits the transfer of personal data to non-EU countries that do not provide an "adequate" level of privacy protection. Safe Harbor certification permits a "certified" entity to transfer personal data from the EU to the United States in accordance with the EU Directive.
An organization's self-certification to the Safe Harbor list, and its appearance on this list pursuant to the self certification, constitute a representation to the United States Department of Commerce that it adheres to a privacy policy that complies with the Safe Harbor framework.
The following individual privacy policies describe the manner in which each "certified" Disney entity complies with the seven Safe Harbor principles of Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Access, Security, Data Integrity and Enforcement:
