  • U.S. Department of Interior Says Disney "Merits Special Attention"
    Kym Murphy accepts the 'Spirit of Take Pride in America' awardThe Walt Disney Co. received national recognition from the U.S. Secretary of the Interior Gayle Norton. The Department of the Interior (DOI) lauded Disney for it's volunteer efforts and service, during a special ceremony in Washington D.C. this past September . The annual Take Pride in America National Awards honor recipients for their efforts in maintaining and enhancing public lands, cultural and historic sites, local playgrounds and other recreation areas. Kym Murphy, Senior Vice President of Corporate Environmental Policy at The Walt Disney Company accepted the "Spirit of Take Pride in America" award; an honor that is not part of the annual awards and given by top DOI officials only in years when someone's efforts merit the special recognition.
