Our First Environmentalist: Walt Disney
Happy 50th!

Dear Stakeholders,

Tom Staggs

More than half a century ago, Walt Disney spoke passionately of our shared responsibility to preserve and protect the natural world. We've sought to uphold these ideals ever since, through wide-ranging programs to conserve resources and to inspire kids and families how to help care for the planet.

I'm pleased to report that Disney achieved great creative and business success this year and, as our Company grows, so too does our commitment to progressive environmental stewardship. During the year, we created a new enterprise-wide Corporate Responsibility office and named one of our most experienced conservationists, Dr. Beth Stevens, to lead the implementation of enhanced environmental policies. She is working with a new Environmental Council, made up of senior executives from across the company, to analyze and implement sustainable strategies for minimizing Disney's impact on the environment and for encouraging and activating "green" behavior on the part of our Cast Members, our business partners, and our Guests and consumers.

This is an enormous challenge, but one we embrace wholeheartedly given the path that Walt Disney set us on so many years ago. Everything we do at Disney is aimed at delivering the very best experience to our consumers and Guests, and that includes preserving the natural world for this and future generations. Our shareholders have given us permission to operate in their best interest. We acknowledge this responsibility and are committed to fostering Walt's environmental ideals as we manage the Company in pursuit of both continued economic success and a sustainable future.

Sincerely,

Tom Staggs
