The Green Standard Program
Next Steps

Next Steps

Disney will launch the remaining phases of The Green Standard throughout the end of 2008. Broadly speaking, the following steps address the following issues:

  • Green Meetings addresses environmental impacts of hosting office gatherings.
  • Green Events helps reduce the environmental impact of large-scale in-house special events, such as productions, conferences, and parties.
  • Green Travel aims to reduce environmental impacts related to business trips.
  • Green Dining addresses environmental issues at the Company's commissaries, catering, and in-office dining.

Together, with the support of business unit leaders and the Environmental Council members, Disney launched an extensive communications and marketing effort to promote The Green Standard and the Green Workspace component. Next steps also include measuring the success of the program and developing recognition components to carry the program through 2009 and beyond. In addition, continual assessment of the Standards will lead to further additions to and modifications of the program to increase participation and positive results. Disney is confident that this program will have a substantial impact, giving every employee and Cast Member a stake in making the Company's commitment to environmental responsibility a successful one.
