"A Message on Corporate Responsibility"

Jay Rasulo At Walt Disney Parks and Resorts we have a history of legendary service, rich with examples of the pride we take in caring for our Guests, Cast Members and the communities we call home. Walt Disney once reflected, "When we were planning Disneyland, we hoped that we could build something that would command the respect of the community..." Decades later, that sentiment still holds true. At Parks and Resorts, our mandate to be a responsible community partner is put into practice every day.

The release of The Walt Disney Company's first comprehensive look at corporate responsibility will now make it easy to access the Parks and Resorts' efforts in four key areas – Safety, Community, Workplaces and Environment – as well as our sites' community reports.

I am especially proud of our Cast Members around the world for the passion and dedication they show, not only in creating memory-making experiences for our Guests, but also in strengthening and supporting the communities where they live, work and play. Within these reports, you will see shining examples of our Cast's commitment of both time and money - assisting victims of the devastating Chinese earthquakes, mentoring individuals to re-enter the workforce in France, rebuilding structures destroyed by California wildfires, sharing the joy of reading at a special needs schools in The Bahamas, or serving homeless families at shelters in Central Florida.

I strongly believe that being a responsible company is the right thing to do for our neighbors, the people who visit and work at our properties, and also for our business. We are committed to advancing the public good by donating time, talent and resources to projects like the restoration of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the creation of a welcome video to advance the image of the United States abroad and our numerous conservation projects through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.

This website and our community reports represent a snapshot of our continuing journey. We must strive to excel in areas of strength and refocus our efforts where there are opportunities to improve. We appreciate your interest and welcome your feedback as we continue to build on our legacy of corporate stewardship.
