FamilyFun Volunteers rewards inspiring families who volunteer together by giving them grant money to donate directly to their favorite charity. Contributions totaling $50,000 will be awarded in 2005.
The program is a partnership between FamilyFun magazine and DisneyHand. Together they are working with the Points of Light Foundation and the Volunteer Center National Network, which will help in judging the entries, and with ABC Family, which will help promote the program through its ABC Family Here to Volunteer initiative.
Families may find out more about the program and enter online at FamilyFun.com from September 15, 2004 through January 3, 2005. FamilyFun will profile some of the winning families in a full-length magazine feature in fall 2005. Families who enter must have volunteered together as a family (at least two members of the family, including one adult and one child under age 18, working together) during 2004. All submissions will be judged on the basis of creativity, impact on the charity or community, and impact on the family.
