Larry Shapiro
Executive Vice President, Business Development and Operations
Disney Interactive Media Group

Larry Shapiro is executive vice president of business development and operations for the Disney Interactive Media Group (DIMG). In this role, Shapiro leads global business development and strategy for the company across connected new media platforms including the Web, mobile devices and video game consoles. He also oversees DIMG's legal and public affairs functions.

Shapiro was a key player in the formation of Disney's Internet business division. Prior to the November 1999 merger of Infoseek Corporation and Buena Vista Internet Group (BVIG), Shapiro was senior vice president, business and legal affairs.

He joined the company as vice president-counsel within Disney's corporate legal department, where he led numerous transactions, including Disney's acquisition of Starwave Corporation and its 1998 investment in Infoseek. Before joining Disney, Shapiro was an associate at two Los Angeles-area law firms: Weil, Gotshal & Manges, and O'Melveny & Myers.

Shapiro graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan
