Jordan McCollum Named Vice President - Counsel of The Walt Disney Internet Group
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - June 11, 2007 - Jordan McCollum has been promoted to Vice President - Counsel of The Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG), the new media business unit of The Walt Disney Company. In his new role, he will be responsible for advising senior WDIG management on legal issues surrounding new media and interactive entertainment, including digital distribution, social and gaming communities, and child-safety issues, as well as participating in strategic business development initiatives. McCollum will report to both Larry Shapiro, WDIG executive vice president – Business Development and Operations and Scott Fain, senior vice president and deputy general counsel for Disney's Media Networks business unit.
McCollum joined Disney's corporate technology group in 2001 and WDIG in early 2005, where he managed all legal issues for the mDisney mobile content legal team.

In early 1997, McCollum began his legal career in the Los Angeles office of O'Melveny & Myers. After several years of litigation practice, he helped found the firm's New Media and Technology Transactions group. At O'Melveny, McCollum advised leading technology and media companies with regard to intellectual property, privacy, technology and new media issues.
McCollum graduated from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a bachelor's degree in Speech Communication in 1993. In May 1996, he graduated Loyola Law School in Los Angeles with a Juris Doctor degree.
