DISNEY ONLINE NAMES JAMES SMITH VICE PRESIDENT OF WEST COAST ADVERTISING SALES
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – May 19, 2008 – Disney Online, a division of the Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG), today announced the addition of James Smith as vice president of Advertising Sales, Western Region. Smith, responsible for leading all western region media sales efforts for Disney Online and its flagship Web sites including Disney.com and Disney Family.com, reports to Brad Davis, senior vice president and West Coast multimedia lead of the Media Advertising Sales and Marketing Group.
Smith joins WDIG from Nielsen Online, a division of The Nielsen Company, which is made up of the combination of Nielsen NetRatings, Nielsen Media and Nielsen BuzzMetrics, where he served as national online sales director for North America. In this position Smith managed a number of sales teams and developed new ad solutions and offerings for the group.

Smith has more than 10 years of professional sales and marketing experience and has been directly involved with the development, sales, marketing and business development of Web initiatives at several companies throughout his career. Prior to joining WDIG and Neilsen, he held executive roles at Leverage Software, a hosted interactive service provider, and CMP Media / United Business Media (formerly Ziff-Davis and Softbank of Japan), a premier interactive and live marketing company.
Smith graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's of science degree in 1992.
