WDIG Diversity

Introduce Diversity/Inclusion
President Steve Wadsworth introduced Diversity and Inclusion Spring 2008 as a WDIG priority. A Diversity and Inclusion Committee (DISC) from a cross section of employees was created to help us guide the initiative forward.

How does WDIG define the key terms?

Diversity: Diversity is the full range of human and/or organizational differences and similarities – EVERYONE IS UNIQUE

Inclusion: Inclusion is the process of leveraging the power of the differences and similarities to achieve a common goal or objective – EVERYONE IS VALUED

WDIG DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION DISC Mission

The Walt Disney Internet Group's success will be driven by guest adoption of the products that our team produces. The quality of these products and our ability to deliver the desired business results will be primarily driven by the quality of the people on our team – making our people our most important priority.

WDIG believes that the best people will be attracted to a company that recognizes, respects and values the myriad of individuals that comprise its workforce. Therefore, WDIG must develop and maintain an inclusive workforce environment that actively attracts, develops and retains a diverse, talented workforce by:
  • Valuing similarities while respecting and leveraging the thoughts, experiences and cultural differences of our workforce to achieve breakthrough innovation and business results
  • Creating a learning environment that educates and equips individuals with the skills and competencies necessary to manage and lead within a diverse workplace.
  • Recruiting and retaining diverse, top-notch talent that is committed to excellence in everything we do.
